About the Gallery
Building on the success of The Yellow Monkey Antiques, owner Heidi Johnston teamed up with graphic designer Kia Talai in 2005 to create Gallery Yellow, a chic minimalist space for contemporary fine art that works surprisingly well set against its Old World setting, an 18th-century shopping enclave with the curious name of Yellow Monkey Village. Comprising 750 feet of custom-designed exhibition space and a 1,500-square-foot open-air courtyard, the gallery highlights the talents of area artists, contributing to the burgeoning arts scene in Northern Westchester. It features nationally and internationally known artists as well. The gallery may have its original 18th-century exposed beams and wide-plank flooring, but the artwork is 21st century all the way. It includes a mix of paintings, photography, glasswork, ceramics, and sculpture. Expect six to eight shows per year.
